Voices Gone Wild ~ A Taiwanese A Cappella Extravaganza-Semiscon Vocal Band

"A Cappella", referring to vocal music sung without instrumental accompaniment, has often been used in religious music, like church music.

Semiscon Vocal Band, established in 2002, is the first professional A-Cappella ensemble in Taiwan. The group uses human voices to mimic the sounds of musical instruments, incorporating the elements of dance, design, comedy, as well as a lot of personal style and flair into their performance. With a wide repertoire spanning various musical genres, including classical, jazz, folk, and pop music, Semiscon is committed to providing audiences with a fresh, unique experience. Its superb skill and creativity has won thunderous applause worldwide, including winning Ward Swingle Award in the POP genre at the International Styrian Choir Festival in Graz, Austria in July 2004.

At the outdoor concert of this year's Taiwan November, Semiscon will interpret Mandarin and Taiwanese pop songs, old English songs, jazz music, and several theme songs of famous Hong Kong dramas with a view to bringing a cheerful, unforgettable weekend for Hong Kong audiences.
